A year before your date
Make a budget.
Book your reception and ceremony venues.
Do a little online research for vendors that might work for your wedding.
Think about if your going to take out wedding insurance.
Go see some bands, Not a bad way to spend some nights out.
Ask to meet photographers and Videographers face to face if possible. You will spend a good bit of time of the day with them. You need to get on with them.
Good vendors book up fast so book the photographer, Videographer and band you want.
Start online dress shopping. It's good to know what you like. Pick the wedding boutiques you would like to visit and book appointments.
Organize Save the Date cards, emails or texts.
Make a guest list
10 Months Before the date
I would say order your dress. The earlier the better.
figure out where your guests are going to say that night and book it.
If you're going to rent any deco like chair covers, donut wall, Crisp wall, photo booth the list is endless. Look around and book them.
This is a great one. Book your honeymoon. Flights, accommodation. and insurance.
Do some cake tastings and book it.
If you're having a catholic ceremony ask your celebrant if you need to book a pre- wedding course.
9 months before the date
View opinions for transport for the bridal party and couple. Book it when you find what you want.
Look at and order wedding rings.
Pick a florist, Ask what's in season, the time of year your wedding is happening.
Pick your bridesmaids dresses.
Start a wedding website or make an email just for the wedding. nameandnamewedding@gmail.com
Sort out your wedding invites.
Book your hair and makeup.
6 months before the date.
Send out your invitations, If you're doing paper ones remember to include a way for people to RSVP. A card or include contact info. Email or phone number.
Ask your maid of honor and best man if the hen and stag have been booked.
Have a nice day with the mothers to pick the perfect outfit.
Pick wedding shoes. If you're having your ceremony on the grass or beach think ahead, stilettos won't work. If your dress is beaded all the way to the bottom, do a simple silk shoe so the dress doesn't catch on anything.
Sort underwear you are going to wear so you have it for the fitting when your dress comes in. Bring them with you to the fitting along with your shoes so the dress will be altered to fit perfectly .
Pick suits for all the men in the wedding party. Rent or buy.
3 months before the date.
Choose reading / poems for the ceremony. If you're going to do a wedding booklet, start that now.
Choose ceremony songs.
Check in with vendor's you booked to see if you need to get them any more information and make sure all payments are made.
Call the venue to book a menu tasting session .
1 months before the date.
Pick your jewellery.
Have a hair and makeup trial.
Book breakfast to be delivered to the house in the morning.You don't need food being cooked while you're getting ready.
Buy bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts.
Have a dress fitting.
Pick up wedding licenseIf you're doing your own vows, start writing them.
Finalize your guest list. Do a seating chart.
Hens and stags shouldn't really be any later than this.
1 week before the date.
Have a facial. Wear in your shoes. Wear them around the house. Keep them clean and hidden from the groom by putting socks over them when you're wearing them.
The groom could do with wearing new shoes in.
Be prepared for lots of visitors this week. Get the tea bags in.
Have a rehearsal of your ceremony.
Nail and tan done 2 days before.
The day before
Have some time together in the morning.Hide from everyone if you must.
Visit the reception venue to check all is on track.
Meet friends and family for dinner.
Have your last single girl kiss and head home with your ladies early.
Hang your dress and vail out of the bag.
Set out perfume, jewellery, underwear, garter, something old, something borrowed, something new and something blue.
Water and lots of sleep.
